RESUME

I ‘ve been using a camera ever since I can remember and somewhere I still have the tattered old Brownie that was given to me by my Uncle Jay when I was a kid. When I got my first digital camera many years ago it seemed to set off sparks in my brain. I became a photographer then, instead of just a person taking photographs.

For the past 12 years I have worked professionally as a Still Photographer on independent films and documentaries and have had shows of my work at galleries, libraries and universities throughout the U.S.
A selection of my pictures from the World Trade Center disaster is on permanent exhibition at the Fire Museum in New York City and soon will be displayed at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the new World Trade Center site.

There is both learned methodology and great mystery involved in photography. You can control the parameters of composition, exposure, speed, sensitivity and aperture, but the light and the subject produce such a gamut of variations that it is almost impossible to take the same photograph twice, at least outdoors. Careful planning and a good "eye" can produce fine work, but oftentimes the best photos are the result of “happy accidents”- just happening to be in the right place at the right time- and having your camera with you.
